When I saw the sketch I knew I would use my new set from Stampin' Up! called Simple Friendship along with the GORGEOUS Parisian Breeze Specialty DP.   Aside from the sewing and the Oval Nestabilities, this entire card is Stampin' Up only!!!  That's a rarity these days!!

Well, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!  We are expecting rain for the next week or so.  Doesn't that sound like a good reason to stay in and stamp?  Sounds good to me!  LOL!  I appreciate you stopping by!!

Hi everyone!  It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Samplers!!  This week's sketch is fantastic.  I have already made two cards with it, but you'll have to wait until Monday to see the other!!

This is a sneak peek of a  new set that will be released on Sunday March 1st from Paper Pretties called Love You This Much!  Isn't this so cute?  I colored Cooper (that's his name) with Copics and then cut him out with Rectangle Nestabilities.  The DP is called Prestwick DSP from Stampin' Up! and has unfortunately retired!  Boo Hoo...I love this DP!!  There is a Heidi Swapp Ghost Star behind the I LOVE YOU sentiment.  The brads are SU! and I added some piercing with a mat pack and piercing tool.

   Now it's your turn to try the sketch.  Taylor will choose the most clever, creative and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week.  Your design and blog will be featured on her blog during Cupcake Friday.  You're welcome to create something other than a card, but just stick to the sketch as closely as possible and you'll be eligible for the Featured Cupcake Sampler honors.  If you upload your sketch to Splitcoast, use keyword TECC57 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 57).  Leave a comment on Taylor's blog with a link to your blog or gallery upload so Taylor can check it out.  The deadline to be eligible for the featured cupcake sampler is Monday March 2nd at 8:00 am PST.

Stamps and Smiles Final Sneak Peek

  Good Friday morning everyone!!!  Today is the final day of sneak peeks for Stamps and Smiles and today the Design Team is featuring a set called Egg Hunt.  This is the most adorable set.  I am showing you only two of the fourteen stamps in this set.  I decided to veer away from Easter and do more of a Spring themed card.  I used this week's sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers, SC217.  I stamped the bunch of flowers three times in Memento Black ink on PTI White cardstock, colored in with Copics and punched each out with a 1 1/8" square punch.  It was then layered on a 1 1/4" square punch of Real Red.  The DP is the new Flamingo DSP from Stampin' Up!  I used my sewing machine for the stitching and added some Crystal Effects to all of the flowers for some shine.  The sentiment was cut out with the Ribbon Tag Die from Spellbinders.  The panel behind the three squares was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Stamps and Smiles Sneak Peek Day 4

  Hi everyone!  It is day four of the sneak peeks for Stamps and Smiles and today I am previewing one of my favorite sets from the release called Sleepy Bunny!  Isn't this bunny precious?  I also used the last of the Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenges for this debut week, SASSC4.  If you want to participate in the sketch you can check out all of the detailshere. 

I used the new Delicate Dots DP from Stampin' Up!   I really love the colors and patterns of this paper.  The Celery ribbon is the new Polytwill Ribbon from the Sale-a-bration catty!!  I stamped the sleepy bunny in Memento Black on PTI White and colored in with Copics.  I did some more sewing on the So Saffron layer and the Bashful Blue layer.  I am not happy at all with the placement of my brads, but I couldn't change them as there were too many holes!!!  Oh well!!

Stamps and Smiles Sneak Peek Day 3

  Hi everyone and welcome to Day three of the sneak peeks from Stamps and Smiles.  Today I am featuring a set called Eggstra Special.  This set has 14 stamps which includes 5 sentiment stamps.   I also used today's sketch challenge from the Stamps and Smiles blog, SASSC3.  You can find all of the challenge details here, and just know there is a prize involved if you participate!!

This card is HUGE!  It is 4x8 so it will fit in a legal sized envelope.  I stamped three of the eggs two times each.  I colored them with Copics and cut out the second set and popped them up on dimensionals.  It is hard to tell from the picture, but I added some shine to the eggs with a clear Glaze Pen.  The DP is the new Delicate Dots DP from Stampin' Up!  I did some more sewing ( I know....I think I need an intervention!!) around the Bashful Blue dotted layer.    The ribbon is 1/4" white grosgrain from SU!  The Celery layer behind the main image was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The sentiment was stamped on two colors of cardstock and I punched out each word with the Word Window Punch and adhered to the card with a Pretty in Pink button tied with linen thread.  I really love how this card turned out!!  That doesn't happen often!  LOL!

Prettie Wednesday

   Hi everyone!  Two weeks ago the fabulous, Jodi Collins, challenged the Prettie girls to make a card that had only one image, one sentiment, one embellishment and ONE LAYER!!   Why are the simple challenges always the toughest?  I love Clean and Simple cards, but I'm just no good at CAS!!!  So here it is in all it's plain glory! 

On Sunday March 1st, Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party!! The party starts at  6pm CDT and will last until 9pm.  We will be issuing a challenge every hour so be sure to come and play along!! Besides the challenges, chatter, and all around fun, we will also be releasing Bunny Hop Sophia to the public as well as a new stamp set!!   Sneak peeks start on Friday, February 27th!!  Hope to see you there!!

We will also be hosting our monthly CUTIE PIE CONTEST!!   All you have to do to enter is upload a card you have made using Paper Pretties stamps to the Cutie Pie Contest gallery over at the Paper Pretties website.  Entries must be in by no later than 8pmCST on February 28th to be considered for the prize. Stamps and Smiles Sneak Peek Day 2

  Hi everyone and welcome to day two of sneak peeks from Stamps and Smiles!!  Today I am showcasing a set called Mama Bunny Loves Me.  Isn't that Mama Bunny DARLING?  She's a Mama Bunny Cupcake!!  This set has 11 different stamps of which I only used two.  I can't wait for you to see these sets!   I realized when I was writing this post that I did not mention yesterday how beautifully these stamp!  I have had a clear and crisp image every time!  Did you also know that Jennifer's DAD is the illustrator of these stamps?  How cool is that?

So here are a few details:  I started out using the sketch for today from the Stamps and Smiles blog. SASSC2,  but veered a bit.  I couldn't get the three embellies to work down the right side so that's where I put my sentiment.  I stamped the main image in Memento Black and colored it with Copics.  The cupcake was actually paper pieced.  It was cut out with Rectangle Nestabilities and I added some piercing to the edge.  The Old Olive DP panel was stitched to the PTI White panel.  The hearts are from the Cuppy Love set that was featured yesterday.

Prettie Monday

For today's Prettie Monday I used the Prettie Weekly Challenge, PWC40, that Danielle posted last Thursday on The Paper Clip.  This week's challenge is a sketch (my very favorite!) and it's a mighty good one!!  If you want to participate, there is a prize involved!!  You can check out all of the challenge details here.

I used the Howdy Girlfriend Sophia because it's been awhile since she's seen any ink!  She was stamped in Memento Black and cut out with Long Rectangle Nestabilities.  The chocolate panel behind her was embossed with a Provo Craft embossing folder ( I don't remember the name...it is a paisley and floral pattern).   It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but the pink layer is a piece of Pretty in Pink patterned DSP.  It is an all over paisley print.  It is from last year's hostess set of papers from the SU! catty.  I added some stitching with my Janome Sew Mini.

Stamps and Smiles = Exciting News!!!

I am so excited to announce that I am on a NEW Design Team called Stamps and Smiles!  Jennifer Meyer from Jennifer's Sweet Designs has created a NEW line of stamps and they are SO sweet!  This whole week the Design Team and I will be showing you samples from the new release along with four sketch challenges for the chance to win NEW stamps from the release.  Check out the Stamps and Smiles blog for more information!

 This is one of five sets being released this Friday at 10:00 am CST when the Stamps and Smiles online store opens!  It's called Cuppy Love and it's so adorable!!! 

I have loved reading all of your guesses as to what this image was!!  After Sunday's post most of you guessed correctly that it was a cupcake, you just didn't know what that cupcake was holding!!  Such a sweet image! 

I'm going to give you just a few details so that you can check out the rest of the Design Team's blogs to see what they did with this set!  I stamped the main image in Memento Black and colored in with Copics.  The frosting on both the mom and baby cuppie were covered with Crystal Effects.  It's super shiny IRL but I could not get a great picture of it (it's been very dark and gloomy here this weekend).  The DP is Sweet Always DSP from Stampin' Up!  I used my beloved Janome Sew Mini again for the stitching.  If you have any questions, feel free to email me!  I will list everything I used in the recipe at the end of the post.
