Hi everyone and happy Monday!!  Today is my daughter, Lauren's 10th Birthday!!  Happy Birthday, Lou!!  We love you!!!  I can't believe how fast this time has gone.....sigh, sniff..........

Okay, so onto today's post!!  This is a sneak peek of a new set called On Par that will be released on April 1st from Paper Pretties.  This is Luke and doesn't he look snazzy in his golf get up???  And don't you just love this sentiment?  It gave me a good giggle!!  What a great set for the golfer in your family!  Wish I could say I had a golfer in my family, but sadly we are all just miniature golfers!!  LOL!

 On Wednesday April 1st, Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party!! The party starts at 6pm CDT and will last until 9pm. We will be issuing a challenge every hour so be sure to come and play along!! Besides the challenges, chatter, and all around fun, we will also be releasing Sophia Ballerina, Sweets for the Sweet in Rubber, Bunny Slippers in Rubber, and a new set!! "CASE"ing Dawn and Amy...

Hi everyone!  Earlier this week I was asked by a Mom at my girls' elementary school if I could make a couple of cards for two families who were going through some difficult times.  Of course I said yes!  I was really busy this week so instead of thinking up two cards on my own I decided to cruise the galleries at SCS and CASE a couple instead!

 

This card is a CASE ofthis beautiful card by Dawn Easton.  I changed it a bit by flipping the sketch on it's side and using an oval for the main image, but this card was completely inspired by Dawn's card!!  Thank you, Dawn!!!

 

This next card is a CASE of this gorgeousness by Amy Rohl.  Sadly, this card needed to be a sympathy card which is something I never keep on hand.  I really hope it brings the family some sort of comfort knowing there are many people out there praying for them.  Thank you, Amy for your inspiration!

TECC61 You're a Hoot!

 

It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Sampler!  Again, Taylor has come up with another fantastic sketch!  When I saw it I knew it was the perfect sketch to break in her new sets that I purchased recently called Branching Out and Branching Out Coordinates!  Okay, Taylor, I know you'll be reading this so I just have to say that I LOVE your new Whimsical Wishes line!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  LOL!!!  I am crazy for owls and the owl in this set is one of the cutest I've seen!!  And they stamp beautifully!!   I just can't say enough........well, I can actually, but I will stop now......giggle!!

So here are a few details:  I stamped the branch from Branching Out on PTI White, stamped the owls and then masked the owls to stamp the clouds.  I colored it all in with Copic markers and popped up both of the owls on dimensionals.  I masked the clouds and then sponged some Soft Sky ink for the sky.  The sentiment was masked so that I could fit it in a circle punch.  The brads are the new 5/16" Neutrals Brads from Stampin' Up!  The DP is the retired Autumn Vine from Stampin' Up!  I also embossed the two chocolate strips with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

VLVMar04 Flowers of Tomorrow

 

Hi everyone!  My fellow Verve Diva, Jen Tapler, is hosting a challenge on her blog with over $250 worth of blog candy up for grabs!   You can read all the details on Jen’s blog.  Jen’s father has Alzheimer’s Disease and by participating in her challenge, you will be helping benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.  All you have to do is create a card, post a photo of it with a link back to Jen’s challenge, and then mail Jen the card. In May, to kick off her Annual Stamp Out Alzheimer’s Event, Jen will be hosting a charity auction where she will be auctioning off decorated Card Organizer tins full of our handcrafted cards. The money from those auctions will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association.  I hope you're able to participate in such a worthy cause!!

I created this card using the Viva La Verve with a twist challenge, VLVMar04.  The twist?  You could only use one embellishement!!  Yikes!!!  I was a little scared, but it was easy!!  LOL!  I used the new Plain Jane stamp from Verve called Flowers of Tomorrow and the flower is from another new Verve set called Miracles Blossom.

Prettie Bookmark

 

Two weeks ago Christi challenged the Prettie girls to make a bookmark!  What a fun challenge!  Both of my girls love to read so I had them pick out a Paper Pretties stamp and the papers and colors they wanted!  I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree because they both wanted my favorite Sophia of all time....Cuddle Me Sophia!!  They also both love the new Walk in the Park DSP from Stampin' Up!  Sarah (my youngest) loves pink and Lauren loves green!  I think these turned out cute!  The sentiment is a portion of a stamp from Sealed With A Kiss.  I thought it would go perfect with the stamp!

Paper Pretties Birthday Hop!

Verve Easter Blessings

 

Hi everyone!!  I hope your Monday is going as smoothly as can be!  My DD, Sarah was sick all weekend so it was a bit crazy around here which equals no stamping time for me!!  She is feeling much better and is back at school today so I took the opportunity to get in some stamping time this morning!  Yippee!!

I made this card using the newly relesed set from Verve called Everlasting Life.  This set is STUNNING and so elegant.  I adore the look of the cross in this set and decided I would make this for my parents for Easter.  I used the new Bella Bleu DSP from the Stampin' Up! 2009 Spring/Summer catty and combined it with Not Quite Navy and Kraft.  The cross was paper pieced with one of the patterns and was cut out with rectangle Nestabilities.  The ribbon is Vintage Cream Satin from Papertrey Ink and is yummy to work with!  I even decorated the inside as you can see from this picture!

TECC60, Verve Project Parade

 

Hi everyone!  It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Samplers!!  I loved this sketch so much that I decided to use it for my project that is featured today on the Verve Blog for this month's Verve Project Parade!  I made a set of eight cards and envies (yes, I made the envies myself!!)   I wish I could take the credit for the idea, but alas, I cannot!  All the credit for the idea goes to the fantastic Lauren Meader!  I found this awesome tutorial on her blog for a card set and adapted it to my set!

 

Here is a close up of the eight cards.  They measure 2 3/4" x 4" and all eight cards and envelopes fit in the box.  The box is Lauren's Captured Card Case Timeless Template.  I purchased the template at Papertrey Ink.  The Verve sets I used are Miracles Blossom, a BEAUTIFUL set with so many flower choices and two beautiful quotes, and Circular Sayings.  Both were released this month and are available for sale at the Verve Store!  The DP is the retired (sorry!) Haiku DSP and it just screams SPRING to me!  LOL!  I added some Stardust Stickles to the edges of each tulip.

Paper Pretties Birthday Blog Hop!!

Prettie Wednesday

  

Two weeks ago Jessica challenged the Prettie Girls to make a birthday card with our Prettie stamps.  Whew....thank you, Jess, for a simple challenge!  Glad it was simple, because my Mojo has taken a vacation.  It's probably having a great time watching me suffer trying to make a card!  LOL!  Seriously, I completely struggled with this card!  I used today's sketch challenge on SCS, SC220 and the five panels behind the main image completely threw me off!

I used the April Stamp of the Month, Hola Chica.  She was colored in with Copics.  The Happy Birthday part of the sentiment is from Papertrey's Birthday Basics and the Chica portion is part of the Hola Chica sentiment, I just masked off the Hola.  It was punched out with a Large Oval Punch and layered on a Scallop Oval Punch.  The scallops at the bottom were done with the eyelet border punch.  The DP is the new Pink Flamingo DP from SU!  The brads are American Crafts and I received them from my pal, Jodi.  Thank you, girl!!!
