Mercy's Sketch #37 {MTSC37}

 

Hi everyone!!  When I sat down to type this post I realized I hadn't posted in three days!  It was kind of a crazy weekend around here.  Both of my girls were not feeling well, so that meant not a lot of stamping time for me!  They both felt better last night, so they were able to go to school today!

I couldn't wait to sit down this morning and make my card for Mercy's awesome sketch this week!   I knew the new set from Verve, Enjoy, would be perfect with this sketch!   I don't know why, but when I see three circles next to each other I think butterflies!!  I love when they are lined up in a row for some reason!   I stamped the three butterflies onto PTI White and punched them out with a circle punch.  I stamped them again three times, cut them out and then adhered them to the circle punch.  I folded their wings back to give them the look of flight.  The Citronella DP from K & Co. was a birthday gift from my girls.  Isn't it fun?

Since it's a new month (where did August go?) that means we are welcoming a new Guest Muse....Suzy Tyler!   Mercy also couldn't let Shannan Teubner go so she has become a permanent Muse!!  Can I get a Woot Woot?

Hi everyone!  It's Friday and it's time for another of Taylor's Sketch Challenges!  I haven't stamped in a few days because of my Vertigo, but I'm feeling MUCH better so after a much needed haircut and highlight this morning, I couldn't wait to get home and kick my missing mojo in the behind!  Not sure that I accomplished that, but I did make a card!

I used a new Taylored Expressions set called Chillax, from the Whimsical Wishes Line.  This is the cutest darned set!  The image was stamped in Memento Black ink on PTI Vintage Cream and colored in with Copics.  I framed it with Circle Nesties and Blossom Nestie.  The sentiment was cut out with the Ribbon Tag Trio (Spellbinders) and was tied with a piece of Hibuscus Burst Bitty Dot Ribbon from PTI.  The scallops at the bottom were done with the Embossed Curve Edge Punch by EK Success.  The gems are from Amuse.

Mercy's Sketch {MTSC36} Grow Love

 

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and time for another one of Mercy's sketches!!  Love this week's sketch!  I know I say that every week, but it's true!!  I love to have a starting point for a card...makes my job so much easier!  

Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when I won the My Favorite Things One Click Challenge for August?  Well, the reason I decided to play was because I really wanted this set that I used on today's card, called Grow Love...Plant a Tree.  I'm kind of a tree nut and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the adorable and whimsical tree images in this set!  I paper pieced the tree with some DP from the Citrus Stack by Die Cuts With A View and I layered it on Labels 7 Nestabilities that I got from Taylored Expressions.  The scallops at the bottom were done with the Diamond Lace Edge Punch by EK Success. The ribbon is Lemon Tart Satin from Papertrey and the gems are from Amuse!

It's Your Day!

 

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a nice weekend!  Mine was eh......still feeling the effects of the Vertigo, hoping it will end soon.  I am improving a little each day, but I'm nowhere near 100%.  Anywho....

I made this card for the last Verve release about a week ago.  It uses a darling new set called Party Time. The sketch is one of the Anni-VERVE-sary sketches.  I paper pieced the balloons with some Razzleberry Lemonade DP.  The circles were cut using the Circle Nestabilities.  I also did a little faux stitching using the mat pack, piercing tool and a Rich Razzleberry Marker.  These colors are totally out of the norm for me, but I do like the finished product!!

I also wanted to let you know that the Verve Project Parade kicks off today over at the Verve Blog!  You don't want to miss it!!  This month's theme is a fun one!!

Today is my hubby's birthday....Happy Birthday, Frank!!   He is off today so I think we're going to go on a little lunch date while the girls are at school!

TESC79 Team Edward!!

 

Hi everyone!  It has been a long three days here at my house.  On Thursday evening I had a major dizzy spell and have not felt the same since.  After waking up yesterday (Saturday) morning, I felt like I was going to pass out so hubby and my girls took me to Urgent Care.  Turns out I am suffering from Vertigo (BPPV to be exact).  I started feeling much better last night but am still not 100%.  Since I was feeling a little better, I decided to try to finish the card that I started for Taylor's sketch challenge on Thursday.

My good friend, Jodi Collins, sent me some of these ADORABLE Edward images last week and I couldn't wait to ink up my beloved Edward!  Thanks, girl!!  Jodi and I have an ongoing friendly argument about whose boyfriend Edward really is.  We both know he's my boyfriend, but Jodi refuses to admit it!  (GRIN)  Anywho...I colored him in with Copic markers and cut him out with my new Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities.  Before removing the image from the die, I sponged some Crushed Curry Ink around to make him glow. The color combo is Dark Chocolate (PTI), Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry.  The ribbon is Dusty Durango Polka Dot, just turned on the other side.  The embossed BG was done with a new Sizzix Texturz Plate from Stampin' Up.  This pic shows how I made Edward sparkle with some Buttercream Shimmerz.  I got that idea from Jodi, too!!

Celebrate MFT and Customer Blog Hop!

So, about a week or so ago Joanne Basile sent me a private message over at Splitcoaststampers asking if I'd like to be a part of this month's customer blog hop!  Would I?  Heck Yeah!!!  They only choose betweeen five and eight stampers each month and I was one of the lucky one's this month!  Thank you, Joanne!

So here are a few details on my card:  I used the adorable Stephanie Fizer set, Snuggle Bunnies.  I stamped the bunnies in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White cs, colored them in with Copics, cut them out and added Dazzling Diamonds to their tails with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.  The DP is from Stampin' Up! and is called Tea Party.  The sentiment was punched out with the Modern Label Punch  I used Amy Sheffer's Paper Pleating Tutorial from the MFT Forum for the pleated DP on the bottom (SO EASY).  The large scallops were done with Diamond Lace Edge Punch by EK Success....Hope you like it!

Prettie Wednesday....Vellum

 

Hi everyone!  Two weeks ago Christi challenged the Prettie Girls to use vellum on their cards!  Well, I have some vellum and I NEVER use it.  Frankly, I just don't know how to use it!!  So thank you, Christi, for making me try something out of my comfort zone!!

I inked up a much neglected set from Paper Pretties called Right On Par.  I needed a card for my Uncle and he golfs.....so you get the picture!  LOL!  I colored Luke in with Copics, cut him out with my Oval Nestabilities and did some free handed piercing around him.  He is popped up on dimensionals over a piece of Brocade Blue that was cut out with the Labels Two Nestabilites.  Did you see my vellum?  My friend,Julie, always dry embosses her vellum, so that's what I did here.  I ran the strip of vellum underneath the sentiment through my Cuttlebug using the Houndstooth Embossing Folder.  I added the sentiment, some brads and a little piercing around the perimeter of the card.  Simple and clean.....

MTSC35 Wishing You.....

 

Hi everyone!  I'm back with another one of Mercy's FAB Tuesday Sketches!!  This week I broke out my new set from Stampin' Up! called Greenhouse Garden.  Isn't it pretty?  I am also loving the new In Colors!  I didn't order them at first because I truly couldn't stand them, but I'm loving them now!

The color combo on my card is Melon Mambo, Old Olive and white.  The Melon Mambo DP is from the Razzleberry Lemonade pack and the Old Olive DP is from the retired Haiku DSP.  The flowers were stamped in Melon Mambo, cut out and popped up with dimensionals.  The sentiment is from Papertrey and was punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  I think that should about do it with the details!!  If you ever have any questions, feel free to email me!

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  Ours was spent getting our girls ready to start school today!  I can't believe my oldest is a 5th grader!  This will be her last year in elementary school and next year she'll be off to middle school (SOB!)  Anywho, I don't want to think about that anymore so I'll get onto the real reason you are here....my card!!

I made this card using a new set just released from Verve Stamps called Delightful and Delicious.  It is a fantastic coffee themed set and I just love the sentiment I used on this card.  The sentiment was stamped in Pumpkin Pie onto PTI White, cut out with Oval Nestabilities and before removing the cardstock from the die, was sponged with some Pretty in Pink classic ink.  The coffee cup was stamped in Pumpkin Pie and then stamped again in Versamark and was heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I cut it out and popped it up on a dimensional.  The DP is from the My Mind's Eye Abbey Road Collection.  I love pink and orange together!  Some machine stitching, ribbon and a brad finished it off nicely!
