Hi everyone!  I made this card for the color challenge on Splitcoast yesterday.  The colors?  Pretty in Pink, Sage Shadow and Going Gray.  I used a set from There She Goes called Bloom!    I stamped the flower twice in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored them in with Copics and popped the second flower up on dimensionals.  The gray panel behind the flower is Going Gray Textured cardstock.  The Pretty in Pink pattern is from the retired hostess prints pack.  I ran the Sage Shadow circle through the Cuttlebug with the Argyle embossing folder.  The sentiment was punched out with the Large Oval Punch and that big beautiful oval brad was a gift from my friend, Julee.  I also channeled my friend Jessie when I did the ribbon....I love how she always uses multiple ribbon on her cards....A little machine stitching and I was done!

Mercy's Sketch #41 {MTSC41}

Hi everyone!  I love Tuesday's because I always look forward to Mercy's sketches!!  This week is no exception!!   It's rare that I really like a card that I make, I mean, we are our own worst critics, right?  Well, I LOVE this card!  I don't know if it is the longness (not a word, I know) or the colors, but I'm really liking it!  LOL!

I used a VERY LOVED but very neglected set from Papertrey called In Bloom.  I think the flower in this set is so beautiful.  I stamped that beautiful flower in Memento Tuxedo Black three times, cutting out different parts of the flower each time.  I colored them in with Copic markers and layered them with dimensionals.    The sentiment is from another Papertrey set called Mega Mixed Messages and was stamped in Enchanted Evening ink and then punched out with a circle punch.  The floral DP is from the In Bloom paper pack by PTI.  I added some stitching and an eyelet border and was done!!

TESC84 What's Brewing?

Hi everyone!  I wasn't able to participate in Taylor's sketch on Friday because I had the craziest week and it got even crazier on Friday and Saturday!  On top of that, it has been SO HOT here!  I am so ready for Fall and just wish the heat would take a hike!  We are supposed to have a cool down early this week....I'm looking so forward to it!

I sat down tonight and made this card!  I used the newly released Spooky Expressions set from Taylored Expressions.  I hadn't used this image yet and thought it was perfect for Taylor's sketch!  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics.  It was cut out with Circle Nestabilities.  I added some Lavender Stickles to the bubbles to give them some shine.  My sewing machine is still making this wonky stitching, so I just went with it!  The ribbon is from PTI and the DP is Basic Grey Eerie.

Today we are featuring the CUTEST set called Halloween Additions!  It has SO MANY adorable little spooky Halloween images!  I used the same fireplace I used last night from Home Sweet Home, but this time I dressed it up with a few spooky images!  The DP is from Stampin' Up and the brads are from Bazzill!  It's hard to tell in the picture, but that IS the sentiment at the bottom!!  LOL!  It says "Hang around for a spell"!  I also got some wonky stitching from my sewing machine!  I love the way it looks!

Today we're featuring an awesome set called Home Sweet Home!  I LOVE this fireplace and would love to see it in my living room!   If you love to color then this set is for you!  I colored everything with Copic markers, cut it out with a Labels 1 Nestie and before removing it from the die, I sponged So Saffron ink and Creamy Caramel ink around the image to give the look of a wall and some carpet!  The DP is from the Razzleberry Lemonade pack from Stampin' Up!  A little stitching (I can't seem to put away my sewing machine), some ribbon and a couple adhesive gems and I was done!!

Mercy's Sketch #40 {MTSC40}

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and it's time for another one of Mercy's sketches!!  For this sketch I broke out the new Taylored Expressions set, Trick or Sweet II.  I adore this Superman Cuppie and wanted to show that these Halloween cuppies can be used for something other than Halloween!  I'm giving this card to my Super Sweet Hubby!!  I think he'll get a kick out of it!

I stamped Superman in Memento Black ink on PTI White and colored him in with Copic markers.  I framed him with the Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities.  The color combo is So Saffron, Ballet Blue and white.  The red dp is from the 2008 Bitty Star Basics from PTI!  I'm not thrilled with my sentiment placement, but what's done is done!!

1 Chronicles 16:34

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday!  Last night Verve released 6 new sets and one new Plain Jane!  This is my sample from the beautiful new 1 Chronicles 16:34 Plain Jane!  

I stamped the verse in Dark Chocolate on PTI Vintage Cream, cut it out with Labels 7 Nestabilities and sponged some So Saffron ink around the verse before removing it from the die. ( that's how you get the white edge)  I tried to make it look like a book by folding it in the center and turning up the edges.  It has MUCH dimension IRL!

The DP is from the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird Mini Deck.  The butterflies were punched (Martha Stewart) and some adhesive gems were added (Hero Arts) for the body!  The scallops at the bottom were made with an EK Success Edge Punch.  A little sewing and the card was finished!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!  We're expecting HOT HOT weather starting tomorrow and it will last most of the week....UGH!!!  Where is FALL????  LOL!

TESC83 Verve Sneak Peek!

Hi everyone!  It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's Sketch Challenges!!  I've paired this week's sketch with a little Verve Sneak Peek!!   This is a FABULOUS sketch and I really love how my card turned out!

This new Verve set is called Harvest Blessings and will be available following the release party tonight!   I stamped the three different patterned leaves on Vintage Cream cardstock in the following Papertrey colors:  Plum Pudding, Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate and Summer Sunrise.  Each one was cut out and popped up on a dimensional.  The sentiment was stamped in Dark Chocolate and was punched out with the Key Tag Punch.  I added a few Taylor's Tiny Twinkles for some sparkle!  The center square was turned on it's point, popped up on dimensionals and then the sentiment was adhered with more dimensionals.  It's hard to tell from the picture, but the sentiment sticks up higher than the rest of the elements on the card.  It looks so dimensional IRL!!

Center of Attention Product Spotlight ~ Smooch

 Hi everyone!  Welcome to the first Taylored Expressions Center of Attention Product Spotlight!  Today we are featuring a product called Smooch.  Smooch is a pearlized accent ink and comes in the most adorable packaging, similar to a nail polish bottle.  It has a fine tip brush, is so easy to use and if you like to paint you'll love Smooch.  I have a few pictures to share, so let's get started...

This is a picture of some chipboard stars and some Thickers chipboard letters before I applied the Smooch....

And here's the finished product!  This card and gift bag will be going to one of my good friends who just had her first baby at age 42!  I painted the chipboard stars and the bear's paws, belly and ears with Pool Smooch  After sanding the Thickers chipboard letters, I painted them with the Nautical Navy Smooch.  They were really easy to paint, however it would be hard to paint anything on the bigger side as the brush is pretty small.  I did add two coats to each piece of chipboard and each letter to get a more even coverage.  It dried really fast, too!  I'm just giddy with how these painted pieces look!

 

I stamped the Bear from Beary Special onto Choice Buttercream with Memento Black ink, colored it in with Copic Markers and framed it with Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities.  I then painted some Pool Smooch onto the bear's paws, belly and ears and set it aside to let it dry.  The card base is Night Of Navy cardstock from Stampin' Up and the DP is by My Mind's Eye, the Abbey Road Collection.  Don't you LOVE the color of the Nautical Navy Smooch on the word BABY?  I just love how those letters stand out!  A little machine stitching and brads finish off the card!

 

This is a close up of the tag.  I used a large chipboard tag and star from my stash.  They were both covered with the My Mind's Eye DP using Zip Dry.  The Night Of Navy circles were punched out using a 1 3/4" Circle Punch and were run through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I added a jumbo pewter eyelet to the tag with a Crop-a-dile and attached the tag with some satin ribbon from Papertrey Ink.
