Hi there!  I {heart} this week's Mojo Monday Sketch!  There was a choice to make a square or round card and I chose the round, because I love these sweet little cards!  I've had Papertrey's Baby Button Bits for a couple months and this is the first time it's seen ink!  I chose the adorable teddy bear and paired him with some Pretty Pastels DP, Kraft cardstock and Sweet Blush Ribbon!  The teddy was colored with Copics and popped up on foam tape for some dimension!  I have a few friends who are having babies in the next few months, so I need to stock up on baby cards!

Skipping Stones Design Sketch #18, {SSD18}

Hi there!  I'm back with this week's Skipping Stones Design sketch #18!  This is another sketch designed by jami Bova and it was SO FUN!   This is also my last sketch as a guest designer for the month of March.  I just want to say a HUGE Thank You to Heather Engebretson for this opportunity!!  I had a great time!

So here are some details:  I just love this set from Skipping Stones Design called Stitched Stamps!  Such a fun set!  I paired it with the new Hawaiian Shores DP and the coordinating dp, Green Boutique from Papertrey.  I stamped the flowers in Versamark onto Hawaiian Shores and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I did the same technique with the leaves.  The flowers were popped up with foam tape for dimension!

{MTSC67} Love Daffodils

 

It's Tuesday and it's time for another one of Mercy's sketch challenges!!  I look so forward to Tuesday's every week!  Oh, and just in case you've noticed, yes, this is my third post in just a week using this new stamp set, Year of Flowers: Daffodils, from Papertrey!  I LURVE it!!!  I can't seem to put it away!  But I digress.....

I stamped the daffodil in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI white, colored it in with Copics and cut it out with a Labels Eight Nestability.  I stamped just the flower portion and let it hang over the edge.....sort of "out of the box"  The color combo is Kraft, White and Spring Moss.   I used the new Vintage Picnic Impression Plate on the Kraft layer.  The ribbon is Spring Moss Satin and the adhesive gems are KaiserCraft!

SFYTT for Susan & Eric

 

Hi there!  I can't believe the weekend is over and today is Monday!  I don't know about you, but I happen to {heart} Mondays!  I just love getting back to the routine of the week! 

Anywho, I took a little time in my craft area yesterday and came up with this card!  I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try from last week and paired it with the new Easter Blessings set from Taylored Expressions!   Jen dedicated last week's sketch to Susan Liles and her husband Eric.  Eric was recently diagnosed with an agressive form of cancer.  You can read about their story here.  Jen also asked her readers to send the card they made with this sketch to Susan and her hubby....so that's what I'm going to do!  Susan is really facing this difficult time with a great attitude.  She has a great sense of humor and that shows in her writing!  I hope you will take some time to read their story!

Okay....onto some details:   I don't use black cardstock very much, but I LOVE the dramatic look it gives a card!  I stamped the cross in Old Olive two times on Choice Snow White and popped the second one up for some dimension.  The sponging around the cross was done with Soft Sky ink.  The DP is the new Basic Grey Kioshi.

Papertrey Daffodil Set!

Hi there!!  I hope you're all having a great weekend!  We have been busy trying to get the house and yard spic and span because we are having the entire family over this week for my DD's 11th birthday!  The weather here has been beautiful the last couple days so we're taking advantage and getting some yard work done....well, hubby is!  LOL!

I made a card this past Thursday for the Papertrey Blog Hop and loved it so much that I decided to make a set!  The original I made is the Lemon Tart card in the back.  If you want to see it up close, you can click here.  I used the exact same design but used Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet and Plum Pudding for the other three!  I think this is my new favorite set from Papertrey called Year of Flowers: Daffodils.  It's so beautiful you don't need a whole lot to dress it up! 

Well, that's all for now!  Kids went to bed early and hubby and I have a date to watch a movie together!!  I hope you have a great day!

March Papertrey Blog Hop!

 

 
Hi there!  Looks like I'm just making it in for this month's Papertrey Blog Hop!  I've only participated one other time and I was DETERMINED today to get a card done!  For this month's hop we were to use buttons!  I only used one, but I used a button!!  LOL!  I also used some of my new Papertrey goodies!  I {heart} everything they've come out with these last couple months!!

So here are some details:  I stamped the gorgeous daffodil from Year of Flowers:  Daffodil, in Memento Tuxedo Black on Lemon Tart cardstock.  I embossed the Lemon Tart with the Vintage Picnic Impression Plate and then paper pieced the daffodil using Pretty Pastels dp.  I did color the flower itself with some Copic markers to give it some depth.   I used the Medium Scallop die on the bottom portion of the card and added some ruffled ribbon to finish it off!  Oh, and I rounded one corner....I've seen so many people do that and I just love the look!

TE Center of Attention Product Spotlight ~ Metal Squares

Hi there!  Once a month half of the Baker's Dozen Design Team features a product sold in the Taylored Expressions store.  This month we are showing you different ways to use the coolest product....Metal Squares!  They are sold in sets of 8 4x4 sheets of aluminum, copper, or a mix of both!  All Metal Squares are 15% off now through March 28th!

 

I paired the aluminum metal sheets with the newly released set from the Taylored Expressions Giving Tree Program, You're My Hero, and the Rockstar Key Ingredients Kit.  After choosing my dp (WeRMemory Keepers Teen Angst) I found the aluminum metal sheet to be a perfect match to the silver stripe in the dp.   I die cut two metal sheet stars using the Nested Star by Spellbinders.  I then embossed both stars with the Swiss Dots embossing folder using my Cuttlebug.  I stamped the guitar from You're My Hero in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals.  I added a little bit of Baby Blue Copic Spica Glitter Pen to the tuning buttons at the top of the neck of the guitar.  The You ROCK sentiment was stamped in Enchanted Evening ink onto the patterned paper.  I felt the card needed a bit more, so I took a little more of the aluminum metal sheet and cut some scallops using the the medium scallop die from Papertrey.  A little "wonkie" black stitching and the cool black ribbon and I called it done!

Skipping Stones Design Sketch #17 {SSD17}

Hi there!  My card today showcases this week's Skipping Stones Design Sketch #17!  I took a little liberty with this sketch and used brads in the upper corners instead of the triangular shapes.....I just couldn't get those to work!  I used the Skipping Stones Design set, Stitched Stamps.  I LURVE this set!  Many of the stamps in this set look like they are stitched, but I took it one step further by actually stitching the hearts and the word "sew" with DMC Embroidery Floss.  I had this dp and cardstock sitting out on my desk from another card I made, so I just went with it!  I really love this color combo!  You can check out the Skipping Stones Design Blog for more samples using this week's sketch!

Mercy's Sketch #66 {MTSC66} and Lisa's Poppy Seed Challenge #2!

  

 
Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and it's time for another one of Mercy's Sketches!  I know I say this week after week, but I love this week's sketch!  I combined this sketch with Lisa Johnson's Poppy Seed Challenge #2 to use a button, polka dots and Light Moss on a card.

I recently received a new Papertrey order and couldn't wait to use some of my new goodies!  I used the new set, Flower of the Month:  Violets. This card was totally inspired by this beauty by Debbie Olson! (scroll down to the third card)    I stamped the smaller violet two times in Memento Tuxedo Black on some PTI Pretty Pastels DP and cut it out.  A portion of the second flower was popped up on foam tape.  The leaves were stamped in Memento Black on another pattern from Pretty Pastels and cut out.  The Kraft panel was cut out with the Labels Eight Nestabilities and was embossed with Tin Types Impression Plate from PTI.  Buttons are Spring Moss and the scallops were cut with the Medium Scallop Die from Papertrey.  I finished it off with some Lavender Moon Satin Ribbon and some machine stitching and called it a card!
