I made this card for today's gorgeous color challenge over at Splitcoast. The color combo for the challenge is Basic Gray, Soft Sky and Whisper White.
Now, while I may love the color combo, I am not in love with this card. I actually started it last night when the challenge was posted and did not finish it until noon today! I had a picture in my mind of how I wanted this card to look and this is not at all what I had in mind! LOL!! I walked away several times and almost threw it in the trash, but I finally made it work.
I used the stamp set Always (which I think is so gorgeous but I have a really hard time using). I inked the heart stamp with white craft ink and then heat embossed it using white embossing powder and then cut out with my paper snips. I added a brad from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware and topped it with a half back pearl (K & Co.).
The card base is textured basic gray cardstock that was stamped with the Stitched BG using Versamark ink. I ran the soft sky layer through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.
The sentiment part of the card consists of a basic gray textured layer punched out with the designer label punch. On top of that is a 1 1/8" circle punch out of soft sky textured cs. They were adhered to the soft sky layer where I then added the styled silver HPH piece with the matching brads. I stamped the sentiment from Always with basic gray ink on whisper white cs and then punched it out with the large oval punch. I sponged the edges with soft sky ink and then added a small flower stamp to the center of the sentiment with soft sky ink. I layered it on top of the HPH with dimensionals.
Last I added some white organdy ribbon (retired) and a row of three brads. Hope you like it! Have a great day~
~Jackie

What a totally beautiful card!!! I love it, even if you don't, but I do agree with you on one thing, I too have the hardest time working with that set. I try, but nothing comes out right.
