Hi everyone!  It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's sketches!!  I LOVE this week's sketch!  I wanted to go the more simple route with my card so I could showcase this ADORABLE Santa from the new Papertrey set, Holiday Button Bits!  I got a rather large Papertrey order earlier in the week and I've just been itching to get SOMETHING inked up!  The DP is the new Rustic Snowflakes from PTI and I just love it!!  I won't go into great detail as I think the card is pretty straight forward, but if you have any questions feel free to email me!

Mercy's Sketch #46 {MTSC46}

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday sketch from Mercy!  This week's sketch is sponsored by Whimsie Doodles Digistamps!  What fun images they have!!

 

I chose to use this adorable Christmas Tree muffin!  I colored it in with Copic markers and cut it out with paper snips. I added some adhesive rhinestones to look like ornaments then layered it on a Labels Four Nestie that had been sponged with Enchanted Evening ink before removing from the die.  The colors I used are Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy and Garden Green.  The DP is Real Red from a retired hostess pack.  The ribbon is May Arts from my LSS.

Taylored Expressions Release Day!

Hi everyone!  Today is a very busy day at Taylored Expressions!  Not only is it Release Day, but it's also World Card Making Day and Taylor has some fun cooked up for you on the Stamp a Sweet Impression Blog.  I'll give you all the info at the end of my post.... 

 

The Baker's Dozen is showing you projects made with the new set, Holiday Wonder!!  This is another DARLING set from the Stamp A Sweet Impression line.  This set is so fun to play with...so many images to create a fun wintery scene!  I stamped the trees to the right of the house using the masking technique.  All images were colored in with Copic Markers.   For the moon, I punched a circle out of a square of cardstock, laid the square down on my card front and sponged Summer Sunrise ink inside of the circle!  Easy Peasy!  Santa and his trusty reindeer were stamped in Dark Chocolate ink over the moon.  The snow is liquid applique, there are X-mas Red Stickles on the star and ornaments on the Christmas tree and each window was covered with Glossy Accents!  The sentiment was stamped in Dark Chocolate on Choice Buttercream and punched out with a Large Oval Punch and is also up on dimensionals!  Oh and the sky was sponged with Not Quite Navy ink.  Whew....I think that's it!  LOL!

Mojo65 Merry Christmas Poinsettias

  Hi everyone!  I made this card for Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday Sketch #65.  I thought it looked like a challenging sketch, but once I sat down and decided what I was going to do it came together pretty quickly (for me!).  I normally take a couple hours to make a card and this one only took about a half hour!  Yay me!!  LOL!  

This card is pretty straight forward, but here are a few details.  I stamped the poinsettias from the Verve set Christmas Poinsettias in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored them with Copics, cut them out and then gave them a good coating of Crystal Effects.  Oh, I also added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the centers....not sure I love the look, but what's done is done!  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
 The panel underneath the poinsettias was cut with the Nestabilities Labels 2 dies.  The ribbon is May Arts from my LSS.  The scalloping at the bottom was done with a Martha Stewart border punch.

BSC59 SnowbunnyBella

  A few months ago my friend, Julie, sent me a bunch of Bella images after I left a comment on one of her cards that I didn't own any Bella images!!  SA-WEET!!  I just love the generosity of stampers.  I finally took the time to color some of the images in and can I tell you that these are FUN to color.  Since I got my Copic markers I am always on the look-out for stamps that I can color.  I LOVE MY COPICS!!  But I digress...

Here are a few details:   The sketch, BSC59, is from the Bella forum over at Splitcoaststampers.  Snowbunnybella was colored in with Copics, cut out with Oval Nesties and Stickled (Frosted Lace) and then set aside to dry.  The Snowflake is a mix of Nestabilities, an EK Success snowflake punch and Ghost Shapes.  The Baja Breeze button is from SU!  The sentiment is from a Verve set called Ornamental Christmas.   I made one of the Anna Wight banners that seem to be everywhere lately.  Love the look...A little faux stitching and some dew drops fisished off the card!!

TECC46 Happy Holidays

  Hi everyone!  It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Samplers!  When I saw this week's sketch, I couldn't think of what stamp to use.  I rummaged around my stamp area and remembered this set, Big On Christmas, that I received a couple months ago through the trade forum over at Splitcoast.  I had yet to get it inky and thought it would fit the sketch perfectly.

I stamped the Happy Holidays stamp twice onto Kraft cardstock and colored it in with Copic markers.  I colored the tree on the second image, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals.  The white dots (that I smudged) on the tree were done with an Inkssentials Opaque Pen.  It's hard to tell from the picture, but the star above the tree is very sparkly thanks to a Copic Spica Glitter pen.  I took some liberty with the left corner treatment and added a Heidi Swapp Ghost Star and attatched it with a star brad from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.  The ribbon is Always Artichoke from Stampin' Up!  The faux stitching was done with a mat pack & piercing tool and a Chocolate Chip marker.

Prettie Challenge Wednesday

  Hi everyone!  Sorry for the lack of posts this week, but I think the holidays are gettin' the best of me this week!  This is the first time I've stamped since last Thursday!!  YIKES!!   I hope for that to change in the next couple days!

So two weeks ago Jodi challenged the Prettie girls to a YUMMY color challenge.  Chocolate Chip, Real Red and Baja Blue....three of my favorite colors!!  Thanks, Jodi....loved this challenge!

Here are some details:  I stamped Trim the Tree Sophia in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored her in with Copic markers and cut her out with my brand spankin' new Curved Rectangle Nestabilities!  Before I took the Sophia out of the die, I sponged all around her with Distress Ink in Tea Dye and then Walnut Stain.  I also added some Dazzling Diamonds to the sash on her dress and to the ornament. The DP is Ski Slope from SU!  The ribbon is Chocolate Chip polytwill ribbon and the scallops on the bottom were done with the Scallop Dot punch from Martha Stewart.  I ran the top portion of the Chocolate Chip cs through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  A little piercing and then sentiment and the card was done!!

TECC45 My Deer Friend

  Hi everyone!  It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Samplers!  I love these sketches every week....they are the perfect starting point because you don't need to think too much!  Just match an image to the sketch and you're off!!  LOL!

I still need a few more Christmas cards so I decided to use the set Christmas Critters from the Kim Hughes collection.  I know I sound like a broken record, but I LOVE this line of fun, whimsical stamps....I chose the deer for this card, not only because it is adorable, but because I really love the coordinating sentiment.

Here are a few details:  I stamped the Deer in Memento Tuxedo Black on Kraft cs and colored him in with Copic Markers.  I added some white to the spots with an Inkssentials White Opaque Pen and then cut it out with Oval Nestabilities.   The hat was stamped in Tuxedo Black on PTI White, colored in with Copics, cut out with paper snips and adhered to the deer.  I added some Xmas Red  and Frosted Lace Stickles to the hat for a little sparkle.  The Artichoke panel was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The ribbon is from my LSS.

CC195 Lovely Holidays

  Hi everyone!  I made this card for today's color challenge over at Splitcoast, CC195.  The challenge was to use the color combo of Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  I substituted Papertrey's Vintage Cream for the VV.  I decided that I was going to use one of my VERY NEGLECTED Stampin' Up! sets and decided on Lovely As A Tree.  I just love this set and it does not see enough ink!

Here are a few details:  The card base is Sahara Sand sponged with Sahara Sand ink.   The next layer is Vintage Cream also sponged  with Sahara Sand ink.  The black layer was embossed with the Argyle embossing folder using the Cuttlebug.  The main image was cut out first with the Sizzix Top Note Die from SU! and I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the trees in the perfect place.  The trees were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and made sparkly with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen and some Dazzling Diamonds.  The sentiment is from a retired SU! set called Warmest Regards.  I stamped it in Memento Black on Sahara Sand cs and cut it out with a Ribbon Tag Die from Spellbinders.  Before I took it out of the die, I sponged some Sahara Sand ink over the edges to give it some depth.  The ribbon is from my LSS.

TECC44 Cozy Christmas

  Hi everyone!  I hope you all survived the feeding frenzy of Thanksgiving!!  We had a wonderful day and I think I'm still full!!  LOL!!  Well today is Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Samplers!!  This week's sketch is FANTASTIC!!  I love it so much that I have already started another card that I'll be posting later!  LOL!! 

I have done quite a bit of stamp shopping lately and along my shopping travels ordered some of the new Whipper Snapper sets designed by Anna Wight.  The set I used today is called Cozy Critters.  The sets are so adorable and they stamp BEAUTIFULLY!!

  Here are a few details:  The owl from Cozy Critters was stamped two times in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copic markers.  I cut the scarf out of the second one and popped it up on dimensionals.  I cut it out with circle Nesties but sponged it when it was still in the die with Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Dye.  The round scallop circle is a Marvy Punch.  The sentiment was cut out with a Nestie Ribbon Tag Trio die and sponged just like the owl.  The snowflakes are also from Spellbinders (Nesties).  The clear snowflake on top is a Heide Swapp Ghost shape snowflake.  The button is from Stampin' Up!!
