Sweet Sunday Sketch #57 & Joanne's Blogaversary Challenge

 

We didn't have much going on around here today so I carved out a little stamping time for myself!  I stamped for no reason but for fun!   I have purchased quite a few of the new Pure Innocence stamps from My Favorite Things and am slowly getting each of them inky!  I pulled out "My Umbrella" Pure Innocence and paired it with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch #57, and Joanne Basile's Blogaversary Challenge to use the paper piecing technique.  I loved Karen's sketch and I love to paper piece, so this card came together easily!!

Mercy's Sketch {MTSC59}, plus MFT's Guest Designer Contest

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and I'm BAAAACKKK with Mercy's Sketch Challenge!!  I can't tell you how excited I am!  My hubby is back at work after breaking his foot and is still on light duty, but will be back to full duty in three weeks!  There is a lot to get to in this post because I not only have my sketch sample to show you, but I also have a few pics from CHA!  So let's get to it!

I took some liberty with the sketch by adding the oval panel over the lower square, but I so love this card!  I don't say that often, but this card just makes me happy!  I stamped the adorable Flower Girl Pure Innocence stamp in Memento Black ink on PTI White, colored her in with Copic Markers and cut her out with Classic Oval and Scallop Oval Nestabilities.  Before removing the image from the die, I sponged some So Saffron ink around the edges with a sponge.  If you click on this picture, you can see the red Martha Stewart glitter that I added to the hearts, stripes, flower centers and shoes with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.  The DP is Love Me Do by My Mind's Eye.  This card also qualifies for the My Favorite Things February Guest Designer Contest.  The challenge for the contest is to Think Spring!  I think this is Springy!  To finish off the card I added some adhesive rhinestones, machine stitching, and a ribbony button bow!

 This is a pic of the Taylored Expressions girls in the TE booth!  They were all amazing!  (from left to right:  Karen Giron, Jami Sibley, Jodi Collins, Karen Motz and Taylor VanBruggen....that's shorty me in the front in green!)

Here we are in the booth again with the AMAZING Lisa Johnson and Harriet Skelly (hskelly on SCS).   Lisa was such a class act and SO NICE!   And Harriet was always there to snap a picture!  She was so sweet!   (Back row left to right:  Taylor VanBruggen, Jodi Collins, Karen Motz, Sankari Wegman.  Front left to right:  Me, Lisa Johnson, Harriet Skelly.)

Sorry for the blurriness on this picture, but look who I met!  That's Broni Holcomb, Joan Ervin and Jenn Balcer with Jodi, Karen and I!!  Amazing ladies and all SO NICE!  I couldn't get over how NICE everyone was!

 And last but not least was Heather Rolin!  Heather used to own H&M Stamps and now designs for Unity.  She is SUCH A HOOT!  We hit it off immediately!  She's a shorty like me and look here....we're color coordinated!  LOL~  (Sorry for the blurriness again!!)

Sending a Flurry of Love

 

Hi there!  It's been a crazy few weeks around our house and my crafting time has suffered muchly!  I snuck in a little crafting "me" time on Wednesday so I could play with some new stamps I got from My Favorite Things.  I'm sure you are familiar with these adorable Pure Innocence images!  I fell in love with them the minute I laid my eyes on them, so I ordered a couple or six! (giggle)  I used Wednesday's sketch challenge from SCS, SC258. 

I colored the little girl with Copic markers and added some Star Dust Stickles to her boots and the ground.  The DP is Rustic Snowflakes from Papertrey.  I LOVE this DP!  The ribbon is Aqua Mist Satin and attached to the bow is a Pure Poppy button that was tied with Rustic Cream Twine, also from PTI.

You can see here how I decorated the inside of my card with one of the sentiments.  It was cut out with a Nestabilties Tag die and sponged with Aqua Mist ink while still in the die.  Some adhesive rhinestones were added to each end.

Well, that's all from me for now!  I'm hoping to get in a little stamping time this weekend!  But first we must get our tree!!  It won't feel like Christmas until the house is decorated!!

Mercy's Sketch {MTSC36} Grow Love

 

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and time for another one of Mercy's sketches!!  Love this week's sketch!  I know I say that every week, but it's true!!  I love to have a starting point for a card...makes my job so much easier!  

Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when I won the My Favorite Things One Click Challenge for August?  Well, the reason I decided to play was because I really wanted this set that I used on today's card, called Grow Love...Plant a Tree.  I'm kind of a tree nut and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the adorable and whimsical tree images in this set!  I paper pieced the tree with some DP from the Citrus Stack by Die Cuts With A View and I layered it on Labels 7 Nestabilities that I got from Taylored Expressions.  The scallops at the bottom were done with the Diamond Lace Edge Punch by EK Success. The ribbon is Lemon Tart Satin from Papertrey and the gems are from Amuse!

Celebrate MFT and Customer Blog Hop!

 

Hi everyone and welcome to the Celebrate My Favorite Things/Customer Blog Hop!  If you came from Joanne's blog, then you're in the right spot, but if you just happened along, then head on over to Joanne's to start the hop from the beginning!

So, about a week or so ago Joanne Basile sent me a private message over at Splitcoaststampers asking if I'd like to be a part of this month's customer blog hop!  Would I?  Heck Yeah!!!  They only choose betweeen five and eight stampers each month and I was one of the lucky one's this month!  Thank you, Joanne!

So here are a few details on my card:  I used the adorable Stephanie Fizer set, Snuggle Bunnies.  I stamped the bunnies in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White cs, colored them in with Copics, cut them out and added Dazzling Diamonds to their tails with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.  The DP is from Stampin' Up! and is called Tea Party.  The sentiment was punched out with the Modern Label Punch  I used Amy Sheffer's Paper Pleating Tutorial from the MFT Forum for the pleated DP on the bottom (SO EASY).  The large scallops were done with Diamond Lace Edge Punch by EK Success....Hope you like it!

MTSC33 & My Favorite Things Challenge

 

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another one of Mercy Kerin's Sketch Challenges!!  This week's sketch is a fabulous one!  I combined this week's sketch with the One Click Challenge from the My Favorite Things forum over at Splitcoaststampers.  The challenge is to use gingham on your card.  The prize?  The whole upcoming release for free!   I love to get free stamps (grin) so I thought I would give it a try!!

Here are just a few of the details:  I used the adorable MFT set by Stephanie Fizer called Cuddle Bunnies.  I stamped the bunnies three times...twice on PTI White and once on the gingham cardstock (Sweet Slumber DSP from SU!).  I cut the gingham piece out with a Curved Rectangle Nestie.  I colored the other two stamped images, cutting out the full image on one and jus the bunnies on the other.  The bunnies are popped up on dimensionals.  I added a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds to their tails with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.  I colored in the little star with a white gel pen.  I also left off the one piece on the upper right corner of the main image becuase I couldn't get anything to look quite right, so the sentiment is on the inside!

TECC68 Owl Be There

 

It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's Cupcake Sketches!  I took a little liberty with the sketch this week by flipping it vertically.  I also could not get the scallops to look right next to the main image so I flipped those as well.  After all of that, I really love this card.  I have really been struggling creatively lately and I feel like this card brought me back!!  I guess having some new stamps helps, too!  Isn't this the cutest image?  It's one of the new Stephanie Fizer sets from My Favorite Things and it's called Owls and Bluebells.  I LOVE the Stephanie Fizer sets....they are so whimsical.

Anywho, here are a few details on the card:  The color combo is Lovely Lilac (I can't believe I had ANY of this color) and Garden Green.  The white is PTI's Stampers Select White.  I embossed the Lovely Lilac label with a new embossing folder from QuicKutz called Diamonds and Dots.  The owls were stamped in Memento Black ink on PTI White, cut out with Circle Nesties.  I popped up the entire body and then the face.  The sentiment was punched out with the word window punch and layered on assorted sizes of circles.  The scallops were done with the Scalloped Edge Punch and the green panel was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder!

A Little Verve and a Little MFT!

  Hi everyone!  I have a couple cards to share with you today.  This first card is yesterday's sketch challenge from Splitcoast, SC219.  I used a new set from Verve called Miracles Blossom.  This set is so beautiful.  It contains a variety of flowers and beautiful sayings....totally VERVE!!  I used crystal effects on the flower pot and the DP is Pink Flamingo from Stampin' Up!

  I made this card for the My Favorite Things Idol contest....similar to American Idol, they chose the top ten finalists who will go on to create a project each week and the person with the least votes each week will be eliminated.  The winner will receive a 250.00 shopping spree in the My Favorite Things store!!!   Unfortunately, I did not place in the top ten, but I am proud of myself just for entering.  I really love my card and those sweet bunnies!   I just love the Stephanie Fizer sets from My Favorite Things and am growing quite a little collection so you'll be seeing some more of them here in the near future!!  The bunnies are popped up on dimensionals and there is some Sakura Glaze pen on each of the dots on the tea cup.  The DP is Parisian Breeze DP from Stampin' Up!
